Trimark online with Tai Seng
Online venture gets rights to 400 films
Deal's preem pic, available when CinemaNow officially launches this month, is "Wing Chun," starring former Bond girl Michelle Yeoh ("Tomorrow Never Dies").
The deal was closed by CinemaNow exec VP Bruce Eisen and Tai Seng general manager Helen Soo.
"This is a major development for CinemaNow as we continue to build a large library of films in specific niche categories," said company CEO Curt Mavis. "Hong Kong cinema is a growing international phenomenon, and Tai Seng is the perfect partner to help us dominate this genre of cinema online."
In September, Trimark snatched up domestic and international rights to several "The Blair Witch Project" spoofs, to be Netcast on CinemaNow.
Tai Seng releases homevid, DVD and laserdisc products in the U.S. and Canada from its 2,000-title film library.
