Insound rolls out Tiger

Inhouse label to establish multi-album deals

NEW YORK -- Gotham-based indie music and film Web site Insound has announced the launch of new inhouse label Tiger Style Records.

Hoping to parlay its visitor base into an extensive market for the new label, Insound will develop multi-album deals with a select group of established as well as up-and-coming acts.

Site sells indie music zines and films on video, in addition to music titles in 28 categories including shoegazing, French pop, lo-fi and psychobilly.

"Our site is now at a level where we can leverage our relationships and resources to do something beneficial for the bands that we work with," Insound principal Ari Sass said.

Tiger Style's initial release slate — to feature acts such as Philadelphia Spacerockers, Aspera Ad Astra and Tom LoMacchio — will roll out in the spring.

Former Linkwork Records topper Mike Treff will join Insound as Tiger Style director of label operations.
