Disney nabs actioner as vehicle for Jet Li
Voris, Reiff sell script for Donners' Co. to produce
Project is intended as a vehicle for Hong Kong actor Jet Li ("Lethal Weapon IV"); the actor is in negotiations with the Mouse House for acting and producing pacts.
Dick Donner and Loren-Shuler Donner and their Warner-based Donners' Co. will produce.
Story centers on a district attorney in New York who must partner with the powerful head of a Chinese crime organization when the district attorney's pregnant wife is kidnapped.
The Donners' Co.'s Mike Aguilar brought the project to the Mouse House, where Jason Reed and co-prexies Nina Jacobson and Todd Garner will oversee it.
Li is currently working on Warner Bros.' "Romeo Must Die."
Voris and Reiff's last feature credit was "Camelot 3000," a futuristic actioner, for producer Mark Canton and Warner Bros.; they also created Fox television's "Brimstone" and are developing pilots for CBS and Fox.
Voris and Reiff were repped by their agents Ramsis IsHak and Aaron Kaplan of WMA; their manager Steve Freedman; and their lawyer David Feldman of Bloom Hergott Cook Diemer & Klein.
