McNamara inks MTV deal

'Blame' prosecutor to o'see creation, development of shows

Kara McNamara, the female prosecutor on MTV's anti-relationship show "The Blame Game," has been placed in charge of creating and developing shows for the cabler, thanks to a first-look production deal with the company.

McNamara co-created and co-produces the MTV show, about real-life disgruntled couples in a mock courtroom battle, with comedy troupe Bitter Noah. The program is the highest-rated show on basic cable in its timeslot among the 12- to 34-year-old demo. The music web had signed McNamara after a performance at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival.

McNamara was represented in her deal by her manager, Marty Berneman.
