James Coburn, who took home a 1998 Academy Award for best supporting actor for his role in Paul Schrader's "Affliction," has signed with Creative Artists Agency. The thesp's vast list of credits range from "Our Man Flint" and "The Great Escape" to "The Nutty Professor" and "Payback." Coburn continues to be managed by Hilly Elkins.

Leah Thompson of the recent NBC laffer "Caroline in the City" is now repped by the William Morris Agency in all fields. She most recently starred in the NBC mini "A Will of Their Own," and can next be seen in telepic "The Unknown Cyclist.

Julia Whelan, who plays the character "Grace" on the ABC drama "Once and Again," has signed with International Creative Management. She will be repped by Tracy Brennan, Nikki Pfeffer and Andy Cohen.

Metropolitan Talent Agency has added Geoffrey Goldstein and Dan Baron to its agent ranks, and has upped Karen Foreman to head of its talent division. Goldstein was previously an agent at Innovative Artists, and Baron hails from J. Michael Bloom. Foreman has worked her way up at MTA since leaving Creative Artists Agency in 1992. In other moves, MTA upped Lexie Weiss and Melissa Spamer to agents within its talent department. Kevin Kelton, most recently co-exec producer on WB series "The Tom Show," has signed with Metropolitan Talent Agency's literary division. Previously, Kelton was supervising producer on TV's "Something So Right" and "Boy Meets World.
