The mid-six-figure pact reunites the standup comic with NBC Entertainment prexy Garth Ancier, who headed up programming at the WB when "Freno" was on the air at the Frog net. Peacock will either create a skein specifically for Mullany or cast him in another laffer developed for the 2000-01 seasons.
"Freno," which featured Mullany as a hip young educator, lasted barely two seasons but gained a small measure of notoriety after a New York City tabloid ran a feature story in which Mullany talked about starring in what was then the least-watched skein on any of the six broadcast webs.
In addition to "Freno," Mullany had a recurring role on the Frog net's "The Wayans Bros." He also wrote and starred in the unreleased Artisan feature "The Breaks."
Mullany's deal was brokered by Endeavor, attorney Jared Levine and managers Randi Siegel and Erwin Moore at More-Medavoy/Bymel-O'Neill.
