Donahue set to don 'Boys' role

Project thesp's first since 'Witch'

Hot off her role in "The Blair Witch Project," Heather Donahue has joined the cast of Miramax/Dimension's "Boys and Girls," starring Freddie Prinze Jr.

Revisiting teen-relationship angst, Robert Iscove ("She's All That") directs with Dustin Hoffman's Punch Prods. producing. Writing duo Andrew Lowery and Andrew Miller penned the script; the actors turned scribes recently signed a two-picture deal with Miramax worth $1 million.

"Boys and Girls" tells the story of two college students who fall in and out of love. Donahue plays a second love interest of the boy, played by Prinze.

For Donahue, who appeared with her "Witch" co-stars Joshua Leonard and Michael Williams at MTV's 1999 Video Awards, the signing marks her first project since "Witch's" history-making run -- though she has been fielding a number of other offers.

"Witch" co-star Leonard has signed to Fox 2000's "Navy Diver" and indie pic "Pray for the Cardinal."

Donahue's film career began with two lead roles in student films: Matt Dale's NYU film "Raw," and Grzegorz Hryniszak's Temple U. pic "Portrait of a Lady." She appeared in such indie films as "Paynes Grey" and "Home Field Advantage."

Prior to working on films, Donahue studied and performed theater in London and New York.

Donahue is repped by Innovative Artists and manager Ben Press.
