After inking licensing deals for videogame makers to develop titles based on its famed Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck characters, Winnie the Pooh, Mulan and Doug are also going digital for Disney.

Disney Interactive has pacted with NewKidCo. to develop a series of games for the Sony PlayStation, Nintendo N64 and GameBoy Color platforms.

Through the multiyear multimillion-dollar deal, the first title -- "Disney's Animated Storybook: Mulan" -- will hit store shelves next year. Three other titles featuring Winnie the Pooh are also in the works.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Disney Interactive to develop titles based on such beloved properties," said Hank Kaplan, prexy of NewKidCo. "Through this deal, we can offer kids exciting new ways to participate in the adventures of their favorite Disney characters."

Burlington, Mass.-based children's game publisher NewKidCo. Intl. also has produced games based on Sesame Street, Steven Spielberg's "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "Hello Kitty" from Sanrio.

Disney licensed its Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck characters to gamemakers Rare Ltd. and Ubi Soft Entertainment, respectively.
