Crane tapped as prexy/CEO of music site

Former NBC Interactive VP, GM goes to Soundbreak.com

Lisa Crane, former Internet bigwig at NBC, has been tapped as prexy and CEO of music Netcaster Soundbreak.com Inc.

Crane will also take a seat on Soundbreak.com's board.

Soundbreak.com, with facilities in Hollywood, is preparing to launch its service, which will broadcast tunes online 24-hours a day for the Clearasil crowd. Internet DJs will host the radio shows. Site will also sell merchandise.

Acacia Research Corp., based in Pasadena, owns the venture. It also holds stakes in CombiMatrix Corp., a pharmaceuticals researcher, Greenwich Information Technologies, which develops video on-demand services, and software developer MerkWerks Corp., among others.

Well known in the Internet community, especially in Hollywood, Crane most recently was veep of NBC Interactive and general manager of NBC.com. While there, she oversaw integrating e-commerce, promotion, and content development on its sites. She also managed NBC Interactive's West Coast operations.

Prior to joining NBC, Crane was veep of sales and marketing for Universal Studios Online where she spearheaded the launch of Universal's e-commerce efforts, as well as its data mining, advertising, and sponsored content initiatives.

She was also veep of marketing for U's new media group and veep of its consumer products group.
