Helkon to float stock

Share prices starting at $18

BERLIN -- German production, distribution and licensing house Helkon Media will hit hot Neuer Markt -- the German stock market -- Oct. 7.

The book-building phase, in which the initial share price will be set, will run from Sept. 25 until Oct. 5. The price range offered is Euro 18 ($18)-Euro 21 ($21).

Around 40% of the company will be up for grabs. Some 17% will remain with each of the founders, Werner Koenig and Martin Heldmann, while Dutch entertainment giant Endemol will reduce its stake from 51% to 25%.

Helkon works with a number of U.S. partners, including Ed Pressman, Dark Castle, Summit Entertainment and Seven Arts. It produced the controversial Josef Mengele pic "After the Truth," which hit German screens last week, and co-produced the Bill Pullman starrer "History Is Made at Night." Current projects include the Leslie Nielsen pic "A Space Travesty 2001."
