Two cops develop series

Officers go from streets to stand-up

NEW YORK -- BS is developing a series about mismatched cops to star John DiResta and Justin McKinney, two real-life police officers who went from law enforcement to standup comedy. The deal's worth mid-six figures, and the network considers the series a high priority.

DiResta is a former Gotham transit cop who turned his exploits into the short-lived UPN sitcom "DiResta," while McKinney, a former police officer from Maine, most recently had a series development deal at Warner Bros. Their agents at UTA decided they might be a stronger act if the cops, who are total opposites, joined forces. CBS jumped at the idea and is looking for a writer to script the pilot.

DiResta's managed by Steve Lovett and lawyered by Nina Shaw, while McKinney's lawyer is Andy Galk.
