Argentine 'Net firm launches U.S. sites

Network targeting Latinos

MIAMI -- Argentine Internet network El Sitio.com launched its U.S. site last week, targeting eight key urban markets with large Latino populations.

El Sitio.com U.S. will offer local and regional content, along with other services in Spanish and Portuguese, for Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco/San Jose, Houston, San Antonio and San Juan.

The company launched its first site in Argentina in 1997, then expanded to Brazil, Mexico and Uruguay, and has plans for Chile, Colombia and Venezuela next year.
