Hill tops MTV awards, takes home four nods
Fatboy Slim's 'Praise' wins three VMAs
Hill's video "Doo Wop (That Thing)" won for video of the year, female video, R&B vid and art direction.
MTV's annual kudofest was televised live from Gotham's Metropolitan Opera House; Chris Rock hosted.
Fatboy Slim's video for "Praise You" also scored well with three VMA victories. "Praise You" won the awards for direction in a video, choreography and breakthrough video.
Ricky Martin and Korn copped two trophies each. Martin's "La Vida Loca" won the statue for both dance video and pop video. Korn's "Freak on a Leash" was named best rock video. The group's video also won for editing.
Will Smith took home the male video nod with "Miami" and TLC snared the group video prize with "No Scrubs."
The rap video award went to Jay-Z featuring Ja & Amil-lion for "Can I Get A ...," and the Beastie Boys won in the hip-hop category with "Intergalactic."
In the new artist division, Eminem took the honors with "My Name Is."
Best video from a film went to Madonna's "Beautiful Stranger" from "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me."
Garbage's "Special" won for special effects in a video.
Martin Coppen's work in Marilyn Manson's "The Dope Show" earned the prize for cinematography.
