Petrovich in as exec veep at Col TriStar

Ex-Latin Turner B'casting prexy to o'see global biz

Signifying its commitment to further expand its global channel operations, Columbia TriStar's international channels division has tapped Jon Petrovich, former president of Turner Broadcasting Latin America, to the newly created post of exec VP.

Based at Sony Entertainment Pictures headquarters in Culver City, Petrovich will be responsible for the global sales, distribution and marketing activities for more than 25 international channel ventures that the studio has launched or holds an interest in throughout Asia, Europe and Latin America. He will oversee all new channel development, as well as branding efforts for AXN and Sony Entertainment Television.

"The depth of Jon's knowledge and experience in the international marketplace will play an optimal role in our continuing efforts to expand and develop our channel business and brands globally," Columbia TriStar Intl TV president Michael Grindon said.

In his tenure with Turner Broadcasting, Petrovich was responsible for all sales and distribution in Latin America, which encompassed development, programming, marketing and promotion.
