In his new position, Whiteside will oversee all operations for Atlanta-based CIMedia's network of 27 city Web sites and two specialty sites. He will report to Peter Winter, prexy of CIMedia.
Reporting to Whiteside will be CIMedia veeps of marketing, business development and content, as well as CIMedia divisional veepees.
Whiteside most recently served as director of strategy and technology for new media at Cox Enterprises, where he was responsible for developing new media strategies, alliances and investments for Cox businesses.
Before that, Whiteside was director of strategic development for Times Mirror Co.
