Prior to its New York debut, "Aida" will have a run from Nov. 12 to Jan. 9 at Chicago's Palace Theatre, presented by Fox Theatricals and the PACE Theatrical Group.
Heather Headley (Aida) and Sherie Rene Scott (Amneris) slug it out over Adam Pascal (Radames) in the story of a Nubian princess forced into Egyptian slavery.
Pascal replaces Hank Stratton, who originated the role at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, where the musical debuted last fall. Since then, Tony Award winner Robert Falls ("Death of a Salesman") has been brought on as director, and Scott, getting into the role of an Egyptian princess, has added "Rene" to her stage name.
