Marshall re-elected as topper of ATAS

Exec to focus on the integration of technology into TV

The Academy of Television Arts & Science's first female chairman and CEO, Meryl Marshall, has been re-elected this week after an unopposed run as the ATAS topper.

Marshall said that the focus of her second two-year term will zero in on the integration of technology into the television brainstem.

"We should be seeing some dramatic changes in the business within the next three to five years," she said. "But it will require dramatic investments by the networks to show their commitment to positioning themselves as technologically prepared for the future."

Marshall is also president of the Two Oceans Entertainment Group.

Other officers re-elected include Nancy Bradley Wiard as vice chairman, George Sunga as second vice chairman, Sheila Manning as secretary and Nelson Davis as Los Angeles area vice chairman.
