USA interactivity

Khosrowshahi tapped to be prexy of unit

USA Networks said Thursday that it has upped Dara Khosrowshahi to prexy of USA Networks Interactive, replacing Alan Citron, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

In his new position, Khosrowshahi will oversee management, operations and strategic planning of the interactive services division, including the Hotel Reservations Network, SciFi.com and the Internet Shopping Network. ISN's services include First Auction and First Jewelry, which will launch later this month.

The company also owns a controlling interest in Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch, which Khosrowshahi will join as a board member.

Based in New York, Khosrowshahi will report to Barry Baker, prexy and chief operating officer of USAi.

'A fine young executive'

"Dara Khosrowshahi is a fine young executive who has shown great growth since joining the company," Baker said. "At a point where technology bears great impact on media and commerce, we feel Dara's most qualified to deal with things interactive and represent the company's interests in Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch."

Previously, Khosrowshahi served as veep of strategic planning and most recently as senior VP.

Prior to joining USAi, he worked at Allen & Co., where he served as vice president from 1995-98.
