DGA will screen pic by Mouse VP Weis

'Inconceivable' finds path to Director's Finder Series

The Directors Guild of America has selected the comedy "Inconceivable" to showcase as part of its new Director's Finder Series.

Pic comes from tyro helmer and producer Bob Weis, currently a senior VP at Walt Disney Imagineering.

The contempo comedy was scripted by Weis' wife and business partner, Diane Fredel-Weis. Story centers on the comic elements of infertility treatment as a woman's determination to quiet her biological clock takes over.

Pic stars Corinne Bohrer ("My Favorite Year"), Jonathan Penner ("Rude Awakening") and Mo Gaffney ("Drop Dead Gorgeous") and was shot for less than $1 million.

The Director's Finder Series showcases films made under DGA low-budget agreements that do not have domestic threatrical distribution or previous TV or video distribution.

Weis established himself as a creative exec designing Disney theme parks, working on both the Disney-MGM studios in Orlando and the upcoming Tokyo Disney Seas in Japan. Weis is also responsible for the concept design behind Sony's new Metreon entertainment center in San Francisco and has served as a consultant for DreamWorks and the Jim Henson Co.

"Inconceivable" will screen Aug. 20 at the DGA.
