In its first attempt to replace ''Dharma" as ABC's Wednesday lead-off hitter, a rerun of ''Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" delivered a 5.6 rating, 11 share in homes and a 3.3/12 in adults 18-49.
That's down a reasonable 15% from ''Dharma's" summer average in the slot, but it's also ABC's lowest 18-49 result in this spot since July 1, 1998 (''Spin City").
Facing ''Pizza" was a rerun of ''Cosby" (4.4/9 in homes, 1.6/6 in adults 18-49), also a slow starter in its first try as a Wednesday regular. ''Cosby's" 2.0 rating in adults 25-54 was CBS' lowest in this slot this summer.
With ''Pizza" leading off ABC's 8-10 p.m. comedy block, ratings were down vs. the previous week by 10%. At 8:30, ''The Norm Show" (rerun, 5.1/9 in homes, 3.2/11 in adults 18-49) couldn't hold all of its ''Pizza" lead-in.
Meanwhile, ''Dharma" has instantly become the darling of Tuesday audiences, attracting a rerun 6.6/12 in homes and a 4.5/14 in adults 18-49, ABC's best slot result in six weeks. With ''Spin City" (rerun, 5.8/11 in homes, 3.7/13 in adults 18-49) also off to a strong start in its new role as Tuesday leadoff hitter, ABC's 8-10 p.m. Tuesday average shot up by 19% in adults 18-49 vs. the previous week. Not bad for a lineup that's replacing ''Home Improvement."
Each household rating point represents an estimated 994,000 homes, or 1% of the country's TV households. Each adults 18-49 rating point reps 1.239 million viewers, 1% of the U.S. total. A share is the same sort of percentage, except it's measured against only the homes or viewers watching TV during the timeslot involved.
