FasTV names Freedman VP

Biz, int'l affairs veep to o'see acqusitions, licensing

FasTV, creator of a searchable online video service, has tapped Randy K. Freedman as veep of business and international affairs.

Freedman will be responsible for the acquisition of programming across all media, as well as the licensing of content and technology between Los Angeles-based FasTV and U.S. and international companies.

Freedman has spent more than 14 years in the acquisition and distribution of broadcast and Internet content as CEO of TransGlobal Associates, an Internet and new-media consulting firm, and at Turner Broadcasting.

In his most recent position at Turner, Freedman was managing director of the company's European distribution subsidiary based in London, where he oversaw distribution of Turner's news and entertainment channels throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Freedman also has served as a staff attorney for the Corp. for Public Broadcasting.

Freedman has served as a consultant to FasTV.com since 1998. The Web site provides video footage over the Internet from partners including CNN, CNNfn, Bloomberg, New Line Cinema, the American Film Institute and the American Medical Assn.
