Police to ensure Siti, In Cable cooperate with ruling
The court further directed police to ensure compliance of the order against Siti Cable, owned by Zee TV, and In Cable, owned by the Hindujas conglom. Next hearing is skedded for Aug. 24.
Hollywood studios have alleged that Siti Cable and In Cable, which cover almost the entire country, have recently shown films like "Speed," "As Good as It Gets," "Wag the Dog" and "City of Angels" without securing rights and permission.
"In addition, prints of the film 'Star Wars: Episode I -- the Phantom Menace' are already available in India and it is a matter of time before it is aired (illegally) on cable networks," counsel for the Hollywood studios said.
