O'Haver to bring in 'Trash' for NL
'Billy's' helmer also attached to U's 'Archie'
O'Haver will develop the screenplay with Levangie ("Stepmom"), who set up the project with New Line earlier this year.
"White Trash" follows a budding politico who finds himself in his own personal hell when he travels to Riverside to finally meet his fiancee's family, who reside in a trailer park. To make matters worse, a brutal heat wave complicates any chance of escape.
Jennifer and Suzanne Todd of New Line-based Team Todd will produce "White Trash"; New Line exec VP Claire Rudnick Polstein is overseeing it for the studio.
O'Haver also is attached to direct "Archie" for Universal and producer Ben Myron. Pic is based on the 56-year-old comic book saga of students (who include Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Jughead and Moose) at Riverdale High. Douglas Carter Beane recently was hired to pen a rewrite of "Archie," which the studio hopes to get before the cameras before the end of the year.
O'Haver's debut feature "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss" screened at Sundance in 1998 and later became a successful arthouse release from Trimark.
This is first deal for O'Haver since he signed with the William Morris Agency a few weeks ago. At WMA, he is repped by Ramses IsHak, Mike Sheresky and Todd Harris. Levangie also is repped by WMA.
