Players

Peter Dobson has been cast in the Nick Gomez comedy "Drowning Mona" for Neverland Films and Jersey Shore Prods. Danny DeVito, Bette Midler, Neve Campbell and Jamie Lee Curtis star in the tale of murder in a small town by scribe Peter L. Steinfeld. Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt and Eugene Musso will produce with DeVito, Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher and Jonathan Weisgal exec producing.

Dobson most recently appeared in the HBO telepic "Lansky" opposite Richard Dreyfuss and has a recurring role on Fox's "Party of Five." He is repped by Steven Levy and Stephanie Johnson of Innovative Artists and manager Beth Cannon of Envision Entertainment.

Dylan Bruno is set to star opposite Natalie Portman in "Where the Heart Is" for director Matt Williams and Fox. Bruno will play Portman's boyfriend, who abandons the pregnant teen in a store while on a cross-country trip. Bruno last appeared in MGM's "Carrie 2: The Rage." He is repped by attorneys Estelle Lasher and Marsha McManus of LMRK, and UTA.

Judge Reinhold, Vanessa Angel and Amber Smith have joined the cast of the comedy "Enemies of Laughter" for Two Sticks Prods.

Pic, written by Glen Merzer, concerns a comedy writer who is not funny. Joey Travolta and Richard Salvatore are set to co-direct and will share producing duties with David Ornston. Mark Sferazza and Ray Gaspard will exec produce. "Enemies" will be distributed by Eternity Pictures.

Reinhold will play the writer's best friend, an endearing loser who decides to make a documentary of his friend's life. Angel will play the love interest of the forlorn writer, with whom she shared a brief moment of passion. Smith will play an ex-lover, still depressed over his fear of intimacy. Paul Sampson ("Who's on First"), Leila Kenzle (NBC's "Mad About You") and Rick Otto ("The Thin Red Line") are already attached.

Reinhold is repped by Seven Summit, Angel by Imparato, Knight, Fay Management and Innovative Artists. Smith is repped by the Don Buchwald Agency.

Camilla Belle has signed on to Fine Line's "The Invisible Circus" opposite Cameron Diaz, Jordana Brewster and Blythe Danner in Adam Brooks' adaptation of Jennifer Egan's novel.

Julia Chasman and Nick Wechsler of Industry Entertainment are producing. Belle most recently appeared in WB's "Practical Magic," Universal's "The Lost World" and WB's "A Little Princess." Belle is repped by Suzi Smith of TGI.

James DeBello ("Detroit Rock City") has been cast in a leading role in United Artists Intl.'s untitled teen comedy (formerly "Crime and Punishment in High School"), a tale of love, murder and redemption. Produced by Pam Koffler and Christine Vachon of Killer Films ("Velvet Goldmine," "Happiness" and "I Shot Andy Warhol"), pic's directed by Rob Schmidt.

DeBello will play a high school student who helps his girlfriend kill her stepfather, only to find that she is in love with someone else. He is repped by Full Circle Management and Gold Marshak, Liedtke.
