In his new post, Patrizio will establish procurement strategies and cost-reduction objectives for the company worldwide. He will also work to improve productivity and technology efficiency.
In addition, Patrizio will continue his involvement with Disney's minority and women business enterprise program.
"We're thrilled to have someone of Bill's caliber joining our team," said Disney exec veep and chief financial officer Tom Staggs. "Bill's talent and experience will take our already successful strategic sourcing effort to the next level."
Most recently, Patrizio was senior veep and general manager at print technology and manufacturing firm Chromium Graphics. Prior to that, he was VP of re-engineering and change management at Universal Studios.
Patrizio got his professional start in sales at the Kellogg Company, later working his way through various high-ranking marketing and sales management positions at Joseph Seagrams & Sons in New York.
