ATAS designates Jellinek exec VP

Veep gets expanded duties

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has named Herb Jellinek to the newly created position of exec veep.

Jellinek has worked for ATAS for the past eight years. He had held the position of interim chief operating officer until the appointment of James B. Chabin in April. Jellinek now reports to Chabin.

The new title broadens Jellinek's area of responsibility from the financial and business areas to assisting Chabin in running the Academy's staff activities.

In a statement, Chabin called Jellinek "an integral part of the ATAS staff" and said his new job recognizes "his contributions and enthusiasm" for the Academy's work.
