Woody and Mickey still sport kid power

Old faves up ratings, 'Pokemon' still top toon

NEW YORK -- Toon titans Woody Woodpecker and Mickey Mouse can still draw a kiddie crowd, according to Nielsen ayem numbers for the second Saturday of the May sweeps.

Debut of Fox's "The Woody Woodpecker Show" scored an impressive 4.4 rating/19 share with tots 2-11, easily winning its timeslot with rates 76% higher than what Fox had been averaging this season in the slot.

Over at ABC, the second outing of "Disney's Mickey Mouse Works" delivered a 3.2/17 in the key kiddie demo, a 10% improvement over what the Alphabet web had been averaging in the three weeks before the new toon bowed.

WB's "Pokemon" (5.5/21) was once again the top-rated kiddie skein in the Saturday ayem broadcast competish.

Overall, Fox finished first with tykes on Saturday, May 8 with a 3.7/15. ABC (3.2/15) ranked second, followed by Kids' WB (2.7/12) and CBS (0.7/3).
