Geater quits post at HAL

Exec shuffles to comedy house Avalon

LONDON -- Sara Geater has resigned as head of production at Miramax HAL Films to join comedy house Avalon as head of television and pics.

She will lead Avalon's expansion into feature films and TV drama, as well as taking charge of its existing production activities in comedy and entertainment programming.

Avalon is both a talent agency and a production company, working with some of the U.K.'s top comedy artists.

Previously, Geater was senior executive for drama production at Channel Four, where she was responsible for 50 series and more than 150 films including "Trainspotting" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," before she left with David Aukin and Colin Leventhal to help launch HAL early in 1998.
