Pic, written by Todd Komarnicki, concerns a covert government agent who murders the other 11 members of his team, casting himself as a Judas and triggering a huge manhunt in the process.
HSI/Tomorrow will produce the pic and Pelman's Tomorrow Films outfit will handle worldwide sales. Producers are Adam Rosenfelt, Chad Snopek, Stavros Merjos and Pelman. Cast and director are not yet decided.
Komarnicki wrote and directed the independent pic "My Achilles Heart," starring Paul Rudd, which is in post-production. The co-star of that pic, Marcus Botnick, will likely have a role in "Judas."
Komarnicki is adapting the Simon Winchester novel "The Professor and the Madman" into a pic for Luc Besson's Fox-based Seaside Prods.
He has also set up the working-class soap opera "The Avenue" at Barry Diller's USA Networks. The serial drama strip will begin airing between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the first quarter of 2000, with Komarnicki also producing.
HSI/Tomorrow is also co-producing "The Third Wheel," with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's Pearl Street Prods. Pic stars Jay Lacopo, Affleck and Damon.
UTA and attorney Karl Austen repped the scribe.
