Friedman sr. VP, general counsel at Par

Exec to oversee pic financing

David C. Friedman has been promoted to senior VP and deputy general counsel of Paramount Pictures.

In his new position, Friedman will work on all aspects of the company's legal business as well as on motion picture co-financing and corporate financial transactions. He reports to Rebecca Prentice, senior VP and general counsel.

Friedman was upped from VP and associate general counsel, a position he had held since joining the studio in December 1995.

Before joining Par, Friedman had been a partner since 1992 with Sinclair, Tenenbaum Olesiuk.
