Gunn loaded for 'Measure'

Thesp Thomas also to star

NEW YORK -- Anna Gunn has inked a deal to star in Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure" at the Ahmanson Theater this summer.

Most recently seen in the Will Smith starrer "Enemy of the State," Gunn is best known for her work as assistant DA Jean Ward in the David E. Kelley legal drama "The Practice."

Gunn will play Isabella, a religious novice who tries to save her brother, Claudio, from a death sentence after he gets his true love pregnant. Complicated deceptions naturally unfold.

She will star opposite Richard Thomas, who most recently appeared in "Tiny Alice" at the Hartford Stage, but is most familiar as John Boy on "The Waltons."

Peter Hall's production begins previews on June 6, bows on June 20 and runs through August 1.

Gunn is repped by Paradigm's Joel Rudnick and managed by Matthew Lesher of Lesher Entertainment in L.A.
