Bernhard, Dick, Belushi cast for ani comedy pilot

Sandra Bernhard ("Roseanne"), Andy Dick ("NewsRadio") and Jim Belushi ("Mighty Ducks") have joined the voice cast of UPN's upcoming animated comedy pilot "Quints."

Other voice cast members are Fairuza Balk ("The Waterboy"), Martha Plimpton ("Parenthood"), Edie McClurg ("A Bug's Life") and Rob Paulsen ("Pinky and the Brain").

Bernhard will play Reba, the mother of teen quintuplet daughters, on the comedy from executive producers Meg Ryan and Nina Sadowsky and writer Heather Thomas ("School Sluts"). UPN has ordered an eight-minute presentation tape from Ryan's Prufrock Prods. and Film Roman.

Belushi plays the quints' hapless father, who worries about the sexual orientation of his only son Bucky, voiced by Dick. Balk plays the youngest quint Barb, who doesn't fit in with her perfectly coifed quint sisters. All four of the other quints are voiced by Plimpton, while McClurg plays an old lady and Paulsen plays two smaller characters, Seth and Mr. Dick.
