E!, Zone Vision team for all-showbiz Polish channel

A combination of Hollywood segments and local showbiz talk, Polish E! is the first service in the country devoted exclusively to the film and TV businesses as well as coverage of celebrities.
The channel, which reaches about 800,000 homes initially, is carried on Poland's Wizja digital platform, one of the two platforms now operating in Poland. The other is Cyfra Plus, operated by Canal Plus and Polish State television (TVP).

Jon Helmrich, E! senior VP for International Development, said: "We are very happy to be in Poland. We look forward to providing strong new local programming."
E!'s local partner, Zone Vision, has hired Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska as its programming director and main on-air host. Piotrowska is a leading showbiz pundit in Poland and will use her insider connections, she said, "to add some glamour and controversy to the Polish entertainment industry."
Prior to E! there was no channel in Poland concentrated on showbiz.
E! joins Turner's Cartoon Network, CNN, Discovery, Animal Planet, Romance, MTV, National Geographic, Fox Kids, Hallmark and HBO on the Wizja digital platform.
In Europe, E! has launched local- language versions in Spain and the U.K.
