Parade powers Peacock

WNBC wins during event, drops to 4th afterwards

WNBC's coverage of Gotham's annual St. Patrick's Day parade marched all over the competish Wednesday.

Peacock flagship's 3-1/2-hour parade broadcast averaged a healthy 5.7 rating/19 share from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., according to Nielsen. WNBC won every half-hour during the event, with viewership peaking at a 7.3/23 from 12:30-12:45 p.m.

Overall numbers were on par with last year's telecast, which earned a 5.8/18.

WABC's daytime lineup finished second for the 3-1/2-hour block, with WCBS a close third.

The parade boost was short-lived, however: WNBC's 5 p.m. newscast ranked fourth for the hour, finishing behind newscasts on WABC (5.2/12) and WCBS (4.4/10) and WWOR's "Ricki Lake" (4.8/11).
