Mandel's show may not return

Yakker goes on 4-week prod'n break

The clock is ticking for "The Howie Mandel Show."

The Paramount-produced syndie talker is going on a four-week production hiatus at the end of this month. Chances of its return are slim, based on the Nielsen numbers since the show premiered last June.

A Par rep said the hiatus had been scheduled for some time and that production is expected to resume May 1. The spokeswoman added that the studio "believes in Howie and the show."
