VH1 picks up Twain special

Deal part of cabler's rebroadcast strategy

VH1 has acquired the recent CBS special "Shania Twain's Winter Break" to bow on the cabler April 7 at 9 p.m.

The acquisition is the latest in VH1's strategy to work with the broadcast webs to promote their programming events in exchange for getting early rebroadcast windows.

VH1 cut similar deals last month to acquire NBC's "The '60s" and ABC's "And the Beat Goes On: The Sonny & Cher Story."
