Jacobs exec VP to market Destination

Ex-Mandalay prexy to o'see all marketing for distrib

Destination Film Distribution has appointed John Jacobs to the position of executive VP of marketing.

Jacobs joins Destination from Mandalay Pictures, where he was president of worldwide marketing. At Destination he will report to president of marketing and distribution Barry London. His responsibilities will include all marketing, including creative advertising and publicity.

Destination has ambitious plans to eventually produce, acquire and/or release up to 12 pics per annum. To date, the company has announced it will distribute two titles: the Ewan McGregor starrer "Eye of the Beholder" and "Loved," starring William Hurt and Robin Wright Penn. Destination also plans to finance and produce "Beautiful," starring Minnie Driver and a live-action/animated franchise based on the children's book "Thomas the Tank Engine."
