Larry Zine has been tapped as chief financial officer of Blockbuster, a move that reunites him with the video rental chain's chairman and CEO John Antioco.
Zine, 44, formerly served as chief financial officer under Antioco when both were at Circle K Corp., the country's second largest convenience store chain.
He replaces Lynn Lyall who has left Dallas-based Blockbuster to pursue other interests.
Prior to joining Blockbuster, Zine served as prexy and chief financial officer of Petro Stopping Centers.
"Zine is an experienced financial executive with exactly the right skills to help take Blockbuster through an IPO this year and to enable it to continue to prosper as a publicly traded company," Antioco said.
Blockbuster operates 6,300 stores in the United States and 25 other countries.
