Palm Ave. taps Calvin prexy of production

The first project from Ron Broadway's indie company is "The Ice at the Bottom of the World"; financed by Initial Entertainment Group, it's an ensemble drama by Mark Richard to be exec produced by Laurence Mark. Also in the hopper is "Keeping Time," scripted by Steven Ginsberg, to star Brenda Blethyn and Peter Fonda.
The slate also includes "Poolhall Junkies," which Mars Callahan is directing from a script he wrote with Chris Corso and which is financed through Gregory Cascante, prexy of CEO/August Entertainment, and "Criss-Cross on Vine," a noirish thriller written and to be directed by Peter Rossi.
Palm Avenue recently inked a financing deal with Dallas-based investment group Movie Mongrels, spearheaded by attorney Patrick Guillot of True & Sewell.
Palm Avenue Pictures is headquartered in the offices of CEO/August Entertainment.
Calvin, formerly an attorney with Gaston & Snow, spent six years as a development exec for Laurence Mark and John Baldecchi. He worked on a range of projects, including "Jerry Maguire," "The Object of My Affection" and "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion."
