E-zine's focus will be indies
IFC, Centropolis pact to create IF online magazine
The e-zine, skedded to hit the Internet on March 19, will feature profiles, news, information and links about writers, directors, producers, actors and dealmakers committed to indie filmmaking.
Centropolis will produce and edit IF's editorial content, while IFC will host the e-zine on its www.ifctv.com Web site and head IF's promotion on IFC and its sister cable network Bravo.
In addition, IFC's indie experts will sit on IF's editorial board and will contribute content.
Anthony C. Ferrante, editor-in-chief of Centropolis' other e-zine, the sci-fi-based EON Magazine, will head IF, with Paul Zimmerman, former editor of Film Threat and the e-zine FilmZone.
Stories in the inaugural issue will include coverage of the Independent Spirit Awards; a "cover story" on Oscar-nominated "The Last Days," executive produced by Steven Spielberg; an interview with director Antonia Bird and her soon-to-be released movie "Ravenous" starring Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle; and news, profiles, film reviews, television and theater viewing guides.
