Levine, who reports to Jersey Shore partner and prexy Jonathan Weisgal, will seek out projects and material that the indie arthouse can produce.
"Dan has a great eye for material and knows how to develop," Weisgal said.
Levine was with Regency for four years, working on such pics as "L.A. Confidential," "City of Angels," "Murder at 1600" and "The Fight Club."
He began his career at Largo as a reader. He also worked briefly for Red Wagon Prods.
Jersey Shore, which has a first-look deal at Universal, is in post-production on an untitled Sex Pistols docu and in pre-production on "The Caveman's Valentine," starring Samuel L. Jackson and helmed by Kasi Lemmons.
