'Bay' makes way for 'Rescue'
Spelling's latest may bump Electra
The WB will also give the drama about Los Angeles disaster paramedics a special original broadcast the next night at 9 p.m. after "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
"Rescue 77" is executive produced by Aaron Spelling, former firefighter and screenwriter Gregory Widen ("Backdraft"), as well as E. Duke Vincent and Kevin Arkadie ("New York Undercover").
The last original episode of "Hyperion Bay," from Warner Bros. TV, will air Monday March 8 after its 17-episode order has run its course.
There's been no decision on whether "Hyperion Bay" will return after "Rescue 77" debuts. Since its relaunch with actress Carmen Electra and executive producer Frank South ("Melrose Place") on Jan. 25, it has averaged a 2.6/4 in homes, off 52% from its "7th Heaven" lead-in, and a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49.
