North gets 'Equal Time'

MSNBC show with ex-prosecutor to feature lively debate

NEW YORK -- MSNBC announced Thursday that it will add "Equal Time," co-hosted by Oliver North and former federal and state prosecutor Cynthia Alksne, to its primetime lineup, beginning Feb. 1.

Each weekday night, North and Alksne will tackle key issues ranging from news to politics to pop culture -- providing spirited and opposing points of view.

"Equal Time" will be broadcast live from Washington, Mondays through Thursdays, 8 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (ET), and on Fridays, 8 p.m.-9 p.m.

MSNBC's weekend version of "Equal Time" will continue to be co-hosted by Bay Buchanan and Lawrence O'Donnell live from Washington on Saturdays at 8 p.m. (ET).

"Equal Time" was originally created for NBC's cable web CNBC before MSNBC was created. The show moved to MSNBC in the mid-'90s.
