Sharrocks joins WB Int'l

Ex-Grey Ad exec becomes G.M. of U.K. arm

LONDON -- Warner Bros. Intl. Theatrical Distributors has named Nigel Sharrocks as general manager of its U.K. arm.

Sharrocks, previously managing director of Grey Advertising, will join WB on March 8 to replace the long-serving Maj-Britt Kirchner, who is leaving to join Pathe Distribution.

Grey is Warner's U.K. advertising agency, and Sharrocks oversaw the Warner account.

"I have worked on and off with Warner for eight years, and I know most of the people there," Sharrocks said. "I've always wanted to do something else other than advertising, and this is a job I've always coveted."

His appointment was announced by Edward Frumkes, president of WB Intl. Sharrocks will work closely with WB's two European supervisors -- Julian Senior, senior VP of advertising and publicity, and Ivan Cheah, senior VP of distribution.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Nigel to Warner Bros.," Frumkes said. "Over the past several years, we have worked closely with him in both creative and business matters relating to the distribution of our films, and Nigel has been extremely knowledgeable and results-oriented."
