Sacker has new Destination

Ex-Miramax exec is VP, biz and legal affairs

Former Miramax Films exec Neil Sacker has been tapped as exec veepee of business and legal affairs for Destination Film Distribution Co., the newly formed Santa Monica-based production and distribution company.

Sacker will oversee all of Destination's business affairs, including dealmaking and litigation, as well as creating and maintaining a strategic acquisition and distribution structure.

He will report to chief operating officer Brent Baum and CEO Steve Stabler.

Most recently, Sacker served as executive vice president of the entertainment finance group of Nomura Capital (Daily Variety, Dec. 3, 1997).

Before Nomura, Sacker was exec veepee of business and legal affairs for Miramax, which he joined in February 1995. Sacker was responsible for negotiating and drafting agreements covering motion picture, television, soundtrack and book publishing operations, as well as all litigation activities for both Miramax and its genre arm, Dimension.

He also served as assistant general counsel at Warner Bros.
