Movieline taps vet Evans

Exec named prexy of fast-growing mag

John Evans has been tapped as president of Movieline. His vision for the magazine includes "a bold, new redesign and an upgrade of the production values."

Evans takes on a magazine that has grown 15% in the past year, according to Movieline figures.

Evans, a 25-year veteran of newspaper and magazine management, was previously prexy of Detour Magazine, Inc. He was also CEO of the German publisher Jurg Marquard Group Press and founded the media firm, Canterbury Consulting.

In welcoming Evans, the magazine's CEO Anne Volokh said his "contributions will be invaluable as we build on the Movieline brand."
