Exec Shuffle

Rob Sorcher, exec VP for Turner Broadcasting's 24-hour all-animation network has announced that Sam Register has been upped to VP of Cartoon Network Online . Register will be based in New York and Atlanta and will act as creative director as well as determine the look of CartoonNetwork.com.

Register came to Cartoon Network Online from San Francisco-based Colossal Pictures, where he served as creative director.

Dominique Luchart has been tapped as VP of creative and marketing services with Soundelux Entertainment Group in Hollywood. She will report to Jeffrey Edell, SEG prexy and CEO.

In her new position, Luchart will oversee all promotions, public relations and advertising programs, as well as manage the production of communications material for the firm.

Luchart joins SEG after a career as creative director and CEO of her own advertising firm.

Pearson Television has named Sara Rutenberg as senior VP business and legal affairs. She will be based out of the company's Santa Monica office and report to Paul Pavlis, exec veep and general counsel for Pearson's North American Operations.

Rutenberg's primary responsibilities will include all business and legal activities pertaining to Pearson Television's and Pearson Television International's North American distribution. She joined Pearson from Universal Television where she was sr. VP business and legal affairs for all international and domestic television distribution.

Spelling Television has tapped Stephanie Barbuto manager of series development. Barbuto joined Spelling three years ago from Paragon Entertainment's development department. Previously, she had worked in the talent department at the William Morris Agency.

The Visual Effects Society, a non-profit trade organization for visual effects practitioners, has tapped Michele Smith director of operations. Smith, a Pepperdine graduate, will be responsible for the daily activities of the society. She joins VES from the accounting department at Polygram Filmed Entertainment and has worked as a production assistant on several projects.

Soundelux has tapped Cynthia Silorey to the newly created post of VP sales. Silorey brings to the position 10 years of entrepreneurial sales, marketing and public relations experience.

Her duties will include building Soundelux's internal sales department and developing business opportunities for the company's three film divisions: Soundelux Hollywood, Signet Soundelux Studios and Soundelux Vine Street Studios.
