Morales, Davis to star in 'Atomic'

Thesps join Lowe in NBC telepic

Esai Morales ("The Burning Season") and Kristin Davis ("Sex and the City") have been set to star opposite Rob Lowe (Daily Variety, Sept. 9) in "Atomic Train," an NBC four-hour miniseries for 1999, which begins shooting in Canada on Monday.

Dick Lowry ("A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story") directs "Atomic Train," which is being produced by Den-nis Hammer Prods. in association with Armand Speca and NBC Studios.

Morales recently completed shooting two indie films entitled "Doomsday Man" and "Southern Cross." He has appeared in such telepics as "On the Wings of Eagles," "Dying to be Perfect: The Ellen Hart Pena Story" and "Circle." His feature film credits include "La Bamba" and "Rapa Nui."

Davis played the character Brooke Armstrong in "Melrose Place." Her television movies include "A Deadly Vision," "Murder in Mind" and "The Heidi Chronicles." Davis has recurring roles in "Another World" and "General Hospital."

Morales' deal was negotiated by manager Erik Kritzer and agent Peter Young of the Gersh Agency. Young also negotiated Davis' deal.
