Teen star in 'Stir of Echoes' for Artisan

By DAN COX

Liza Weil, the teen star of indie pic "Whatever," has inked to star opposite Kevin Bacon in "Stir of Echoes" for Artisan Entertainment.

Weil has also signed for a small role in Lasse Hallstrom's "Cider House Rules" for Miramax Films.

In "Stir of Echoes," she'll play Debbie, the babysitter of the telekinetic kid whose sister was murdered and is haunting the house.

David Koepp is directing from his own script. Judy Hofflund and Gavin Polone are producing.

Weil made her feature debut with "Whatever," a Sony Classics release from director Susan Skoog.

Weil recently shifted agencies from Abrams Artists to CAA. She was repped in both deals by Abrams Artists and managers Darris Hatch and Rob Colker.
