Bleeth joins 'Nash' skein

Ex-'Baywatch' thesp to play IA cop, love interest

NEW YORK -- Former "Baywatch" star Yasmine Bleeth is joining the cast of Don Johnson's CBS actioner "Nash Bridges."

Bleeth ("BASEketball") will play Caitlin Cross, a by-the-book internal affairs officer who'll eventually become romantically entangled with Johnson's title character.

According to "Nash" executive producer Carlton Cuse, Bleeth's character will be assigned to represent Bridges and his partner Joe (Cheech Marin) when the cop duo are charged with the murders of three of their colleagues. She'll later begin her own investigation of Bridges and his Special Investigations Unit.

"They start out as adversaries, but they end up falling in love," Cuse said.

While "Nash" is already one of the Eye web's top performers, particularly with younger males, the addition of Bleeth should further boost the Friday night actioner's appeal with men.

"Nash Bridges" is entering its fourth season on CBS this fall. The series is a co-production of the Don Johnson Co. and Carlton Cuse Prods. in association with Rysher Entertainment.
